ASL Secures Grant for Research and Development

9th July 2019

Advanced Sensors Ltd is pleased to announce it has secured a grant from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to expand its product portfolio.

This project involves the development of a new fluorescence-based Oil In Water Analyser capable of detecting hydrocarbon components with fluorescence spectra in the deep UV region. This will facilitate detection of hydro carbons not detectable by the current Advanced Sensors product portfolio and will enable detection of aromatic hydrocarbons including benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, xylene, naphthalene and their isomers The current Advanced Sensors OiW products are optimised for detection polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH’s) comprising three or more aromatic rings which are constituents of crude oil and show fluorescence spectra in the visible region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The project will extend to include cost reduction of the current Advanced Sensors product portfolio by introducing a modular design approach which will result in a very low base model cost and scalability of functionality in line with the customers’ requirements.
